The 2015 edition of Pop Fest Gallipoli (LE) is already creating a buzz online, promising to make the whole of Puglia dance. The lineup features an array of top DJs: Albertino, Benny Benassi, Bob Sinclar, Cristian Marchi, Daddy’s Groove, Dj Antoine, Federico Scavo, Gabry Ponte, Gigi D’Agostino, Martin Solveig, Michael Calfan, Moti, Nervo, Riva Starr, Steve Aoki, and VINAI (listed alphabetically, not by performance order; dates to be announced soon). Organized by Musica E Parole (www.musicaeparole.it), a company known for hosting large-scale events across Italy (including a major DJ set by Martin Garrix at the Estathé Market Sound in Milan), the event was preceded by an exclusive preview featuring Bob Sinclar at Cromie in Castellaneta Marina (TA) on March 23rd. ALBERTINO (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest 2015)
Albertino is one of Italy’s most iconic DJs, on-air with Radio Deejay since 1978. Known for creating trends and catchphrases, he developed Deejay Time and significantly contributed to Radio Deejay’s success. Albertino remains a staple in the Radio Deejay lineup and recently hosted the second season of Top DJ on Sky.
BENNY BENASSI (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest 2015)
Born Marco Benassi in Milan on July 13, 1967, Benny Benassi rose to fame in the late ’80s. Known for hits like “Satisfaction” and “I Feel So Fine,” he won a Grammy Award for “Bring the Noise,” a rework of a Public Enemy classic. His recent hits include “Cinema,” “Beautiful People,” “Dance The Pain Away,” and “Aphrodisiak.”
BOB SINCLAR (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest 2015)
Bob Sinclar, born Chris Le Friant, is a legend in the dance music world. Known for hits like “World Hold On” and “Love Generation,” his first major success was “Gym Tonic,” a collaboration with Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk. His label Yellow Productions continues to release hits, including “Love Generation” and “World Hold On.”
CRISTIAN MARCHI (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest Gallipoli)
Cristian Marchi, born in Mantova in 1976, is a mixer phenomenon, making over 100,000 people dance worldwide each year. With nearly 300,000 Facebook fans and millions of YouTube views, his latest hit “Keep Calm & Twerk On” features Luciana.
DADDY’S GROOVE (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest Gallipoli)
Daddy’s Groove, comprising Gianni Romano and Carlo Grieco, blends Italian house traditions with progressive and electro dance influences. Recognized by Axwell (Swedish House Mafia), they have mixed for Pete Tong, Erick Morillo, and David Guetta, and are residents at Ibiza’s Pacha and Ushuaia.
DJ ANTOINE (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest Gallipoli)
Swiss DJ and producer Antoine Konrad, known as DJ Antoine, is famous for “Welcome to St Tropez.” Known for his energetic performances and engaging stage presence, his summer 2015 hit “Woke Up Like This” celebrates the good life.
FEDERICO SCAVO (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest Gallipoli)
Federico Scavo, a Tuscan DJ active since 1991, is renowned for his powerful and innovative funky house sound. Known for hits like “Strump” and his summer 2015 remake of “Parole Parole,” he continues to be a global house music icon.
GABRY PONTE (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest Gallipoli)
Gabry Ponte, part of Eiffel 65, sold 15 million records in the ’90s. Known for his energetic dance tracks, he also judges on the TV show “Amici di Maria de Filippi.” Ranked 61st in DJ Mag’s Top 100 in 2014, he remains a beloved DJ.
GIGI D’AGOSTINO (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest Gallipoli)
Gigi D’Agostino, famed for “L’Amour Toujours” and the genre Lento Violento, continues to captivate fans with his classic hits. Despite not needing a current chart hit, he remains one of the most beloved DJs in Italy.
MARTIN SOLVEIG (DJ Guest @ Pop Fest Gallipoli)
One of the world’s top DJs, Martin Solveig co-produced Madonna’s 2012 album “MDNA” and opened many of her tour concerts. Known for hits like “Intoxicated” and his 2002 album “Sur La Terre,” his global success continues.
