19 July – Valmorel
The Mad’Trail has evolved to offer several
circuits for different levels. Competitors can
now choose between the Mad’Trail, a 64km
race with 3,400m of vertical ascent to
complete in 15 hours max (solo or in a team
of two), or the Crève-Tête, a 19km circuit
going through the hamlets of the
Aigueblanche valley. Activities and
entertainments are available for the public.

27 July – 7 August – Arêches-Beaufort
Over 10 days, runners can take part in 15
different trails in the Beaufortain. They will
also have the opportunity to test the latest
gear from and train with the Scott Team.

Pierra Menta
The Pierra Menta is a famous ski-alpinism
race in the Beaufortain which celebrated its
30th anniversary in March 2015. This year
a summer version is launching and is
expected to quickly become a legendary
skyrunning race! Based on the winter race,
competitors will run for three days over
68km and will cover a total of 6,800m
vertical ascent. Some parts, such as the
Arête du Grand-Mont, are very technical and
require the use of ropes and harness.
Competitors will have a briefing every night
where they can study the next day’s
itinerary.

IAU trail world championships 2015
30 May
The world’s best trail runners, representing
78 countries, will compete over a course of
86km and with a vertical ascent of 5,300m,
around Lake Annecy and its summits.
It will be a spectacular show to watch!

La 6000D
3-9 August – La Plagne
The 2015 6000D offers seven races: the
original 6000D over 63km and with 4,000m
of vertical gain, the 6D Lacs over 27km (5km
longer this year than in previous years) and
with 1,600m of vertical gain, the 6
Découverte over 11km and with 600m of
vertical gain (ideal for beginners), the 6D
Verticale over 5km and with 1,000m of
vertical gain, and two races for children, the
6D Kids and the 6D Mômes. The sevent race
is new for 2015, and is called the 6D Bob.

La Course du Bélier
22-23 August – La Clusaz
For its 30th anniversary, the famous Course
du Belier in La Clusaz has changed its format,
and is now on two days instead of one. There
is a new race called Le Trail du Bélier which
is 40km long. Le Agneau circuit is returning
in a race format.

Tour de la Grande Casse (TGC),
22-23 August – Pralognan-la-Vanoise
The TGC is a 65km trail, around Savoie’s highest
summit, the Grande Casse (3,855m). Launched
in 2008, this challenging race is very famous.
This year, runners can chose between three
formats: run solo, in a team of two with a
changeover in Tignes, or a team of three with
a changeover in Champagny then Tignes.
