Flair, showmanship, speed, and knowledge of the Hard Rock brand are the ingredients that, when perfectly mixed, create the ultimate Hard Rock Cafe bartender. For the fifth consecutive year, Hard Rock presents its thrilling cocktail showdown with the Global BARocker Competition. Bartenders from Hard Rock Cafes worldwide will showcase their skills in national and local contests to vie for the title of Global BARocker Champion.
Tuesday, October 3rd, from 6:30 PM, during happy hour at the Hard Rock Cafe in Venice, cocktail enthusiasts can witness the thrilling third and final Italian round of this global competition. Contestants Shakif Rahman, Giorgio Ponga, Massimo Ursi, Ioan Axente, Pietro Mortillaro, Giancarlo Santoro, and Manuel Rossetto, bartenders from Bacino Orseolo Cafe, will demonstrate their knowledge, speed, style, precision, and flair in crafting both alcoholic and non-alcoholic Hard Rock cocktails.
As with any proper competition, the barocker competition will begin with a warm-up: from 6:00 PM, the audience and competitors will be energized by a themed DJ set featuring Alberto Milani.
The music mixed by Alberto Milani will energize the competition and keep fans dancing at the Cafe even after the event.
Armed with competitive spirit, the 7 BARockers from the Venetian Cafe will face 3 challenges: the speed round, precision round, and showmanship round. The winner will earn the title of “best bartender” of the Cafe and the opportunity to compete against Europe’s finest barockers.
Judging the bartenders will be a distinguished panel featuring Jacopo Romanelli, Hard Rock’s Bar Manager, serving as the Precision Judge; Michael Libanore, Musketeer Red Bull, taking on the role of Technical Judge; and Martina Tallon, journalist and food blogger, who will serve as the Overall Judge.
Global BARocker Competition: Stages
From 23 European Cafes, only six bartenders with the highest scores will be selected for the continental BARocker final. The number six is also significant on a global scale. The top six bartenders worldwide will advance to the Global BARocker Championship finals in January 2018 in Orlando, Florida. National winners will receive a silver 3-D BARocker pin and a gift package that includes exclusive Hard Rock-branded bartending equipment. The Global BARocker Champion will be awarded a 3-D gold cocktail glass champion 2018 pin, a metal trophy, BARocker apparel, and a prize trip for two to an all-inclusive Hard Rock resort. Additionally, the champion’s cocktail will be temporarily featured on the Hard Rock menu.
