THE BRONX

    Boo at the Zoo – Bronx Zoo

At the Bronx Zoo, guests can enjoy family-friendly activities including magic shows, costume parades, a hay maze, pumpkin painting, live music and more. Kids receive free admission for wearing a costume, and guests of all ages can enjoy an up-close look at all the creepy critters on display at the zoo. Available every weekend in October and into early November.

·         Brew at the Zoo - Bronx Zoo

After enjoying ‘Boo,’ stay for a ‘Brew’ - Brew at the Zoo is a 21+ age event making its debut this Halloween at the Bronx Zoo. The event will have over 40 beer vendors and 100 varieties of beers to sample, numerous food trucks, live music, and an abundance of DJ's, as well as the best part: animals! Available Saturday, October 29.

·         Scarecrows: From the Heartland to Horror - New York Botanical Garden

Explore the evolution of the scarecrow in the U.S., from its everyday role in agriculture to its status as a cultural horror icon in films and comic books at the New York Botanical Garden. Created by sculptor and artist Ray Villfane, the art display is set amidst the Garden’s landscape, and comes to life for an evening experience after 3 p.m. For an additional experience, enjoy Scarecrow Nights with trick-or-treating for the whole family. Available now through October 30.

    Halloween Harvest at Luna Park – Coney Island 

In addition to their famed amusement rides, guests at Coney Island’s Luna Park will find Halloween-themed arts and crafts, live performances, and a pumpkin patch featuring a giant pumpkin (not for picking!). Available weekends through October 30.



    Ghouls and Gourds – Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Families are welcomed to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for a daytime festival of costumes and fun. The day features over 10 live performances, a bug petting zoo, vegetable games, a children’s book barn showcasing 20 authors, and a children’s Halloween costume parade. Available Saturday, October 29.

·         Annual Halloween Haunted Walk and Fair – Prospect Park

Lookout Hill, the highest point in Prospect Park, is the home of the Prospect Park Alliance’s Annual Halloween Haunted Walk. Ghouls and goblins lurk along an outdoor haunted walk during the afternoon and offer a fun adventure for young ones. Available Saturday, October 29.



MANHATTAN

    43rd Annual Village Halloween Parade – Lower Manhattan

The Village Halloween Parade is NYC’s largest and most well-known Halloween celebration. Join up to 50,000 participants for a trek along Sixth Avenue, guided by live music. Participants line up at Canal and Spring Street and travel up to 16th Street. Costumes are required to march! Available Monday, October 31 at 6:30 p.m.

    26th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade - Tompkins Square Park, Lower Manhattan 

The immensely popular annual event features hundreds of dogs in costumes alongside thousands of spectators. After showing off your pooch’s outfits and best in show is declared after a runway competition, a parade follows for all to enjoy. Available Saturday, October 22.



    Gradin Road Pop Up Shop at Macy’s Herald Square - Midtown

Macy’s Herald Square is celebrating Halloween with a pop-up shop from home décor retailer Grandin Road. The unique space transports visitors through four specific themes from Frightfully Fun, Bewitching, Macabre and Mystical, and the extremely popular, elegant-and-eerie Glam Halloween.     Fort Totten Park Haunted Lantern Tour – Fort Totten Park, Bayside

Tour Fort Totten Park’s historic Water Battery as it is transformed into a “haunted house” led by Urban Park Rangers with lanterns. Catch a glimpse into New York’s past as the battery was once a former fortress that guarded New York Harbor during the Civil War. Available Friday, October 28.



    Halloween Harvest Festival – Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City

Outdoor arts space Socrates Sculpture Park hosts its annual Halloween Harvest Festival, this year with a circus-theme. Visitors will enjoy costume-crafting as well as jugglers, stilt-walkers and a dog costume contest. Available Saturday, October 29.



    The Amazing Maize Maze - Queens County Farm Museum, Floral Park 

Kids and adults alike will have a blast finding their way out of this 3-acre corn maze in Queens. A destination in itself, the Farm Museum is home to the five borough’s largest remaining tract of farmland. Available weekends through October 30.

    Ghosts of Conference House - Tottenville

On the Southern tip of Staten Island, visitors are welcomed to find out if Conference House Park is the island’s most haunted park. Experience a nighttime hike through an ancient burial ground and into the Conference House led by Urban Park Rangers. Available Saturday, October 29.

Decker Farm Pumpkin Picking – Historic Richmond Town

Enjoy Historic Richmond Town’s annual pumpkin festivities on the historic Decker Farm from the 1800s. Visitors can also enjoy a farmhouse tour, hayrides, a cornmaze and more. Available weekends now through October 30.
