GIOVANNI SOLLIMA AL TEATRO REGIO DI PARMA – Mercoledì 9 novembre 2016, ore 20.30 @GiovanniSollima

GIOVANNI SOLLIMA AT TEATRO REGIO DI PARMA

PART OF THE SERIESMUSICA IN CIRCOLO

The renowned cellist with the Arianna Art Ensemble

in a concert dedicated to Giovan Battista Costanzi

Teatro Regio di Parma

Wednesday, 9 November 2016, at 8:30 PM

Tickets available from 10 to 30 euros

The cello of Giovanni Sollima and the Arianna Art Ensemble will take center stage on Wednesday, 9 November at 8:30 PM at the Teatro Regio di Parma, in the latest event of the Musica in Circolo series, organized by the Associazione Rinascimento 2.0 and Teatro Regio di Parma with the support of Sinapsi Group and Net Project.

A versatile artist and extraordinary composer, Sollima captivates a diverse audience, ranging from classical music enthusiasts to rock fans. On the stage of Teatro Regio di Parma, alongside the musicians of the Arianna Art Ensemble – Andrea Rigano (cello), Paolo Rigano (archlute and baroque guitar), Cinzia Guarino (harpsichord) – he will pay tribute to Giovan Battista Costanzi, known as “Giovannino del violoncello.” A highly esteemed 18th-century composer who fell into obscurity and was rediscovered by Sollima, Costanzi was a visionary musician from whom Sollima drew inspiration for the composition of Il Mandataro, a piece that will conclude the evening. This reflects the depth of the Palermo artist’s research, who has revived the musical world of 18th-century Rome, bringing Costanzi back to life through one of his many roles during his prestigious tenure with Cardinal Ottoboni: “il mandataro” or “chief of instruments,” responsible for recruiting musicians for grand occasions.

Tickets (ranging from €10.00 to €30.00) are available at the Teatro Regio di Parma Box Office and online at teatroregioparma.it. Online purchases have no service fees.

Under 30 can enjoy a 50% discount on tickets for intermediate and side box seats and numbered gallery seats.

The audience can subscribe to an abonnement for the next two concerts of Musica in Circolo 2016 and the six concerts scheduled for the fifth edition of the event, running from 30 April to 4 June 2017, at a special price of €100.00.

The fourth edition of Musica in Circolo, offering the opportunity to hear rarely performed compositions and famous pieces by various ensembles, concludes on Sunday, 13 November at 11:00 AM with a concert by Sandro Laffranchini and the Solisti dell’Opera Italiana, followed by a buffet aperitif at the Gran Caffè del Teatro, included in the ticket price.
