Over the past decade, the Dubai Tour has proudly showcased winners wearing the leader’s jersey featuring both the Dubai Tour logo and the Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) logo. In 2015, Mark Cavendish, the Manxman, claimed victory, following the previous year’s winner, German cyclist Marcel Kittel. Both riders were top contenders at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar.

The roll of honor of the Dubai Tour demonstrates its significance among riders as a crucial addition to their career achievements. This is why CBD chose to renew its support for an additional three years: to benefit from the assured global exposure of the Dubai Tour and within the UAE region itself.

CBD’s sponsorship extends beyond the Dubai Tour to include the Mini Dubai Tour. This event, a smaller version of the professional cycling race, takes place from January 25 to 28, just weeks before the main event. Organized by the Dubai Sports Council, the Mini Dubai Tour is for children aged 8 to 13 years, offering free entry and a competition for parents. The dates for the most entertaining cycling race in town will be announced soon.

H.E. Saeed Hareb, General Secretary of Dubai Sports Council, stated: “I am very pleased with this renewal and delighted to have such a major partner as the Commercial Bank of Dubai for three more years as part of the Dubai Tour. Our cycling event will continue to serve as an ideal platform to convey the values of the Commercial Bank of Dubai. This commitment aligns with an event that is constantly growing and offers great prospects for cycling fans and the new generations.”

Commenting on the Dubai Tour and its sponsorship, the bank’s CEO, Peter Baltussen, said: “Commercial Bank of Dubai is thrilled to renew our sponsorship for three more years with the Dubai Tour, which aligns strongly with the bank’s corporate social responsibility objectives of promoting a healthy lifestyle. This event contributes significantly to elevating the UAE’s sports sector and embodies the government’s vision to develop and promote sports in the UAE, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”

Lorenzo Giorgetti, CEO of RCS Sport and Events DMCC, said: “First, I would like to thank the Commercial Bank of Dubai for their commitment over the past two years. We have grown together with mutual satisfaction, which is the key to a strongly supported renewal. Three more years is a good period to achieve new, significant results together and to consolidate and increase what we have accomplished.”
