Abu Dhabi, 8 June 2016 – The Abu Dhabi Tour, a professional cycling race scheduled to take place over four stages in the emirate from 20-23 October this year, is launching its promotional activities at the Abu Dhabi Sports Festival. The festival kicks off this Thursday (9 June) and runs through Friday, 5 August, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC).
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), the festival will feature twice-daily spinning classes and day-long KIDs Art Labs at a dedicated Abu Dhabi Tour stand. His Excellency Aref Al Awani, ADSC’s General Secretary, stated: “Our aim at this Sports Festival is to encourage families and individuals who do not typically visit gyms or sports clubs. Partnering with the Abu Dhabi Tour allows us to enrich the program with cycling-related activities.”
Those interested in joining the spinning classes can register via email at MAAlneyadi@adsc.abudhabi.ae or at the general accreditation desk near ADNEC’s entrance. Classes will be held daily at 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM during Ramadan, and three times a day from 9 July to 5 August (timings to be confirmed). The cost is 40 AED per hour, and all participants will receive a special Abu Dhabi Tour promotional T-shirt.
In the KIDs Art Labs, children can enhance their drawing skills under the guidance of an Abu Dhabi Tour promoter. All drawings will be showcased at the Abu Dhabi Tour ART exhibition during the final stage on 23 October, with a chance to win a kid’s bike as a prize.
The KIDs Art Lab is open to all children, and no registration is required. Participation is completely free of charge.
