Paris announced as venue for World Football Forum 2016
We are excited to announce that Eventica Sport’s annual football industry event, the World Football Forum will
take place in Paris on 7-8 July 2016 – at the culmination of the UEFA Euro 2016 Championship, hosted by
France. Paris has long been setting the standard in culture, cuisine and fashion, and next summer, the City of
Light will also be at the epicentre of the football world as the host city of the Euro 2016 final – the perfect
backdrop to the World Football Forum.
The 4th annual World Football Forum in Paris will be the key event for the key players of the global football
industry: the personalities who guide, influence and govern the world’s game.
The central theme of the World Football Forum in 2016 will be the ‘New geography of football’ – the high-growth
new markets for the world game.
In Russia, where the FIFA World Cup™ will take place for the first time in 2018, football is jumpstarting
modernisation plans, with a dramatic overhaul of the country’s infrastructure. Qatar’s preparations for 2022 are
beginning to change perceptions of sport in the Gulf. China’s football-loving President Xi has prioritised football
development, unlocking a vast new market. India’s new Super League aims to thrust the Indian game into the
international spotlight. Meanwhile, the football boom in Africa shows no sign of abating.
The geography of football is changing fast – and the World Football Forum will chart the opportunities
and the challenges ahead.
The World Football Forum will give suppliers and service providers a deep understanding of the opportunities in
football’s emerging markets, and it will be an ideal platform for learning more about the latest trends in and
around the global football industry, direct from internationally recognised leaders.
