MTV ha annunciato attraverso il social network Snapchat le nomination per gli MTV Video Music Awards 2014 che saranno trasmessi in diretta su tutti i canali MTV dal Forum di Inglewood, in California, Domenica 24 agosto. A partire da oggi i fan di tutto il mondo possono dunque votare gli artisti in nomination nelle categorie degli MTV VMA 2014 su mtv.it/vma.
La superstar Beyoncé, che ha sorpreso e deliziato i fan di tutto il mondo con l’uscita rivoluzionaria del suo acclamato album all’inizio di quest’anno, è l’artista più nominata dell’edizione 2014 dei VMA con ben otto nomination incluse “Video of the Year,” “Best Female” e “Best Choreography.”
Eminem e la rapper australiana Iggy Azalea hanno ricevuto sette nomination ciascuno. Tra le categorie in cui Eminem è in nomination ci sono “Best Hip-Hop”, “Best Male” e “Best Collaboration”, mentre Iggy Azalea si ritrova in nomination per alcuni dei migliori award come “Video of the Year”, “Best Female” e “Best Pop”.
In lotta per l’ambitissimo premio “Video of the Year” ci sono: Iggy Azalea ft Charli XCX con “Fancy”, “Drunk in Love” di Beyoncé ft JAY Z, il tormentone “Happy” di Pharrell Williams, Sia con “Chandelier”, e il video che ha generato un milione di memes, “Wrecking Ball” di Miley Cyrus. I precedenti vincitori della categoria “Video of the Year” sono stati Justin Timberlake con “Mirrors” nel 2013, Rihanna ft Calvin Harris con “We Found Love” nel 2012, Katy Perry con “Firework” nel 2011 e Lady Gaga con “Bad Romance” nel 2010.
Dopo l’annuncio dell’anno scorso con l’innovativo video in stop-motion che annunciò le nomination attraverso gli account MTV di Instagram e Vine, MTV quest’anno ha voluto distinguersi ancora una volta e ha deciso di rivelare le nomination degli MTV VMA 2014 tramite l’account MTV di Snapchat, diventando così l’unico network ad aver usato Snapchat pe run annuncio.
Usher, Ariana Grande e i 5 Seconds of Summer sono i performer già annunciati per la serata degli MTV Video Music Awards 2014, altri artisti che calcheranno il palco del Forum di Inglewood saranno annunciati prossimamente.
